NANOSMAT events attract many talented researchers from around the world and to provide these mainly younger researchers with a stimulating platform to "interact" and "learn" from the best scientists in the world in assisting them to develop themselves in their studies, research and development work.
Various Nobel Laureates have given keynote lectures at NANOSMAT conferences, including the late Professor H. W. Kroto (USA), Professor Jean Marie-Lehn (France), Professor Peter Grunberg (Germany), Professor Albert Fert (France) and Professor Andrei Geim (UK).
The continual organisation of educational programmes such as (i) short courses, (ii) workshops, (iii) tutorials and (iv) competitions for young researchers (lecture & best poster competitions) has been a long tradition for NANOSMAT.
